Dandruff

This common scalp condition occurs when dead skin sheds, producing those irritating white flakes of ‘snow’. Dandruff indicates that there is a problem with oil metabolism in the body. It can also be triggered by trauma, illness, hormone imbalance, and B-vitamin, Essential Fatty Acid or selenium deficiencies.

Recommended Action

The most important thing to do is to take Krill / Black Currant Oil (at least 2,000 mg, twice daily). We also suggest eating a fair amount of raw food in your diet, along with sour taste foods like yogurt and vinegars. You should avoid fried food, most dairy products, sugar, flour, chocolate, oily nuts and seafood. Doing a 12-day D-Tox Diet is a good start to a dandruff program. Rinse the hair and scalp once a week with diluted vinegar (1/3 cup vinegar in 1 quart of water).

Single Herbs: Dandelion, Goldenseal, Red Clover, Kelp; rinse hair in an infusion of Chaparral and Thyme.

Nutritional Supplements: Krill / Black Currant Oil (2,000mg, twice daily), B-complex, Vitamin C (500 mg, three times daily), Vitamin E (200-400 IU daily), Zinc (50 mg daily).
