This course covers a wide range of nutrition related topics including the basics of nutrition right down to the cellular level, nutrients, diet fads, important information about how food is grown and processed, and your choices as a consumer. Essential Pathology

This course is designed to give you a basic knowledge of pathology, the scientific study of the causes, mechanisms and manifestation of disease. Pathology is very much the basis of modern medicine, and medical doctors will have spent hundreds of hours studying pathology, in the classroom learning theory and in places such as the cadaver lab, where diseased organs and tissues are dissected and analyzed. Although it is a unique discipline, with its own experts and special subjects, it is really a marriage of several different disciplines, from clinical observations (including everything from physical assessment to microscopy to chemistry), to the related field of biology, the study of living processes.

Anatomy and Physiology

Before we can even begin to discuss how the human body works, we first need a model to describe how it exists in time and space. Thus anatomy is our starting point, the study of structure and the relationships that exist between different structures.
